Financial Obligations for F1 Students
International students present financial support documents prior to obtaining the I-20 necessary for their visa interview. No I-20 will be issued without showing proof of the proper support funds needed for full payment of tuition and fees and living expenses while enrolled at UHV. Students should make banking arrangements and transfer of funds prior to their travel dates to ensure sufficient money is available when you arrive in the United States.
Payment may be made to the university by credit card, transfer of bank funds, e-check or paper check to be drawn on the student's or sponsor's bank account. Contact the Bursar Office by sending an email to email@example.com for detailed instructions on transfer of funds directly to UHV. The university accepts American Express, MasterCard or Discover Card credit cards for tuition payments. Visa credit cards are not accepted by UHV for tuition payments. Full information about payment options and tuition and fees may be found on the Bursar Office web page, http://www.uhv.edu/bursar. Please pay close attention to payment deadline dates! Students who fail to meet the payment deadlines may find themselves removed from their classes for non-payment.
Students who fail to complete payment for tuition and fees by the required dates are barred from enrollment in the following semester. This can result in termination of F1 visa status, and departure from the United States may be necessary in these circumstances.
Health insurance charges are payable in full prior to the first class day of the fall and spring semester. Health insurance charges may not be included in any short-term loans or installment payment plans. The Health Insurance Waiver Request Form must be submitted prior to the first class day for students to have this charge waived when they have the minimum coverage required for health insurance expenses. This is an electronic form that must be submitted by the student using their login information. Please have all insurance information available when completing this form.
