Library Databases
The VC/UHV Library uses
your UHV student account to authenticate your
off-campus access to the library databases. Student
accounts also provide access to student email and
on-site access to the computer labs. Although Student
accounts use PS IDs for usernames, student accounts are
separate from WebCT accounts and
PeopleSoft accounts.
Each is a
separate and distinct account.

In
order to access the library databases from off-campus,
you must activate your student account by changing your
password. When your account is created, your
initial password is set to your date of birth and is
pre-expired. A pre-expired password means that you
must change your password in order to use your
account. Passwords can be changed on-site in the labs
or remotely via the email server. Thereafter, you will
be required to change your password every 160 days.
