Classroom Support
Technology Services provides academic and administrative computing resources
for the University of Houston-Victoria. Offices and facilities are located in
the UH-Victoria University Center building at 3007 N. Ben Wilson. Teaching Labs
are located in rooms 201, 205, and 216 and the Open Labs are located in rooms
202 and 204. ITV Rooms are located in rooms UC 312, UC 302, UC 215 and UW 120.
Access to the computer labs provides UHV students with access to services such
as email, high speed Internet, printers and over twenty different software
packages
Email Accounts are provided for every student, however they will need to
have a disk to access their email. Lab Attendants are on duty to help set their
account up.
Printers – there are four printers located in front of the Lab Attendants
area where all printouts can be picked up.
Open Labs
Open Lab 202 is for students to use during lab hours. The 23 computers in
Open Lab 202 range from Dell 450 Mhz to Dell 800 Mhz processors with 17-inch
monitors. There are also 10 CD-RW’s and 2 scanners located in this lab.
Open Lab 204 is for students to use during lab hours. The 24 computers in
Open Lab 204 range from Dell 450 Mhz to Dell 800 Mhz processors with 17-inch
monitors. 8 of which have CD-RW’s.

Teaching Labs
Teaching Lab 201 is equipped with 31 computers all of which are Dell 1Ghz
with flat screen monitors running Windows 2000 with CD-RW’s. TL 201 also has
audiovisual equipment to aid in delivering presentations. LCD projectors are
mounted in the ceiling and are available to display the teachers station’
computer and the VCR. There are also two monitors an overhead projector located
in the room for displaying transparencies.
Teaching Lab 205 is equipped with 25 Dell 600 Mhz computers with 17-inch
monitors. TL 205 also has audiovisual equipment to aid in delivering
presentations. LCD projectors are mounted in the ceiling and are available to
display the teachers station’ computer and the VCR. There is also an overhead
projector located in the room for displaying transparencies. CD-RW’s are
installed in 10 of the computers.

Teaching Lab 216 is equipped with 26 Dell 800 Mhz computers with 17-inch
monitors and CD-RW’s. TL 216 also has audiovisual equipment to aid in delivering
presentations. LCD projectors are mounted in the ceiling and are used to display
the teachers station’ computer and the VCR. There is also an overhead projector
located in the room for displaying transparencies.

All Labs are handicap accessible and in Lab 202 there is a station that is for the visually impaired with a large monitor and JAW’s Software.
