Property Custodian Responsibilities in accordance with UHV policy and procedure A-22:
Each Property Custodian receives their departmental inventory report at the time of the annual inventory. The inventory report includes these specific items:

The Property Custodian performs the physical inventory for the department. The Property Custodian shall verify the information and indicate to the Property Manager any necessary changes to the report. After the Property Custodian performs the physical inventory, the Property Manager shall verify on a sample basis the inventory listing. Any discrepancies shall be researched by the Property Manager to ensure the accuracy of the Property Custodianís reporting. The Property Manager will update the database prior to sending the Certification of Physical Inventory Form to the State Comptroller. After the inventory, a new departmental listing will be provided to each Property Custodian.

The condition of the property should also be evaluated during a physical inventory and any necessary changes can be reflected on the departmental inventory report.
